My person is gone

Im feel so terribly lonely. me and my partner of two years have recently separated and im completely lost. ive lost a piece of myself, a my best friend, and my emotional support. im yearning for my deep connection with my boy, going for sleeping tg every nights for months to barley talking is starting to have physical affects on my body. i feel alone. so so alone. and i want so baldy for him to change his mind. i want to be what he wants. i know our relationship hasnt been perfect but weve had really deep intimate moments and im confused how he is okay with throwing it away. someone please give me advice on how to not be so sad and angry.

oh girl, i am on the same boat now.. exactly two years of relationship and no matter what i try to do he still doesnt believe me or wants me, he gives bread crumbs so i am still around and cant let me go or i cant let him go.

Losing a long term relationship like that can be very tough on us emotionally. What you're feeling is to be expected. It may not be that he doesn't care about throwing your relationship away, but rather that he's handling it in a very different way from you. Try not to assume too much about what's happening in his inner world, because it's impossible to know.

Instead, I encourage you to reflect on what led to the end of the relationship. What did you learn about your relationship boundaries through this relationship? How did he contribute to your relationship problems? How did you contribute to them? In what ways can you grow to heal yourself based upon these answers?

If you can, journal about it. Even consider writing (not necessarily sending) a letter to him expressing everything you feel.

Finally, give yourself time. It feels like the end of the world when it's fresh. Connect with friends in the meantime. Engage in hobbies. Remember who you are outside of a relationship.

Wishing you the best of luck,

M

@helpfulTalker8159 I'm so sorry you're going through this. Losing someone who was your partner, best friend, and biggest source of comfort can feel incredibly lonely. Right now, try not to focus on becoming what he wants. Focus on taking care of yourself and getting through one day at a time.

It's okay to be sad and angry—you're grieving a huge loss. Give yourself permission to cry, lean on people who care about you, and remember that healing takes time. The pain won't disappear overnight, but it won't feel this intense forever.

How are you doing? just checking in..! one day at a time!

Same boat, 7 weeks ago, lost my best friend & it was his descion but due to my situation that I have no control over. Felt like I made every effort I could with him. Found out Sunday he’s already in a new relationship. It was getting easier, I promise it will, disconnect, as hard as it is, don’t look at socials, photos, old messages. Try & see the good in your life & what you’re grateful in the moment x

I’m on a similar situation right now, we broke up 2 days ago after 3 years of friendship and almost one of romantic relationship, I’ve never experienced this sadness for a person, we didn’t end in bad terms but he’s just lost and wants to be alone, I never had a connection like I had with him. I miss him, I know I won’t find him twice in life (in probably overthinking) but I guess only the people that gets it get it. I’m so sorry this is happening to us right now and can’t do nothing but cry everyday and hope it’ll get better
