NEED OPINIONS AND ADVICE

I’m a 16 year old girl and I met an 18 year old guy at my first job a few months ago. We quickly became friends and became more comfortable with each other. He just graduated from another school last year and I am currently a junior in high school. We started talking outside of work more and realized how similar we are. We developed feelings for each other, and planned to go on a date. I lied to my parents about his age because I knew they wouldn’t let me go out with an 18 year old, but they found out and were reasonably *** at me. I know I majorly messed up lying to them about it. We have been dating for a month or so now in secret. I’ve been sneaking out to go on dates with him and see him outside of work. We really do have an amazing relationship and he means the world to me. He’s also planning on moving jobs because he knows us dating is inconvenient for work reasons. I don’t know how to explain the situation to my parents. He wants to meet my parents and be able to be open about dating and hanging out.. I feel the same but I’m scared of how they will react and I’m not sure how to tell them. The truth is I just really connect with him and it feels right when I’m with him. I really want some way for it to work out.

(wanted to mention it’s legal in my state if anyone’s worried about that)

Was hiding this your decision then NOT his? so a lie about his age was one then you decided to increase the lies or secrets by sneaking out to date him...

although your relationship may be great ... it may feel so right and you get along perfectly ..... that is not what your parents will feel or think.... You have one opportunity to make a good impression and get people off on the right track.. While you may have been afraid of them disapproving or not liking him .. your choices almost guarantee issues.

Maybe in time people will all get along but the start of this will not be forgotten.... you need to come clean to them and if it was your choice speak up because they might think he told you to lie....

be prepared for their hurt and perhaps disappointment but your bf is right this needs to be taken care of sooner then later...
