I am not sure whether my bf is narcissistic or not but he doesn’t let me leave the house unless it’s to meet him anytime I do he says it’s over but it never is over and he tells me it’s because he worries about my safety all day but idk if it’s true or he is trying to control me .

@annas6553 unless youre living in some really unsafe area ..... it would appear as a control issue. You know best.

Yes, he’s definitely controlling you unless you’re literally living in a war zone! Even if you live in an unsafe neighborhood you gotta leave to get things! And even in bad areas you can still walk around during the day and chances are you’ll be totally fine! Ugh, do not listen to him! Unless someone’s shooting on the block that day and he knows about it?! but otherwise be free my friend! And being a narcissist requires a lot more than just being controlling. He could be paranoid, possessive , controlling and not a narcissist. They are a LOT more screwed up

@annas6553

For me (as a man, hopefully non-narcissistic) it looks like an attempt to control you.

Of course, you might agree to see him one last time - if that would be your choice based on wisdom and mutual respect - not because he demands it from you - but it could prove to be unnecessary, painful and confusing to both sides.

I am afraid such situations can also be risky in terms of possible emotional blackmail.

@annas6553 this is textbook abusive behavior, no matter how he tries to justify it. He's trying to control you and isolate you, so that he becomes the only point of reference in your life and you have nothing and no one else to look for or count on.
If I were in your shoes, I'd look for the nearest women support center. These are organizations that support women who are in abusive relationships and offer help in getting out of such situations. If you need help finding one, don't hesitate to ask!

Update !!!

I said well if it isn’t about control and to make it fair we should only both go out if we are going out together just to see what he would say and he said but that wouldn’t work for me I’d get bored in the house !! So he expects me to be ok with staying in but he doesn’t have to ??? And claims it’s all because I’m more vunerable than him ?

Would it be okay if we talk one on one? I'm new to here. Not sure how to do it.
