Possible Breakout

Today I am feeling extremely anxious and scared about the future of my relationship with my boyfriend. I keep thinking that the relationship is going to end because I cannot give him the outcome he wants. He believes I spied on him and placed the AirTag in his car. I do not believe that is true, and I cannot bring myself to admit to something I don't believe I did.

I am trying to understand the difference between taking accountability and taking responsibility for things that are not true. I can acknowledge that I struggled with trust, that I handled things poorly at times, that I showed up uninvited, and that I have communication issues I need to work on. I am actively seeking help through counseling, group sessions, journaling, and self-reflection. However, I do not know how to take accountability for something I genuinely do not believe I did.

What hurts the most is that I feel like I have been carrying my own pain silently for a long time.

was afraid that bringing up my concerns would immediately become another conversation about my trust issues, boundaries, or the AirTag. I wanted my relationship. I wanted my boyfriend. I loved him and did not want to create more conflict.

Today I realize how much pain I have been holding inside. Part of me wonders whether staying silent protected the relationship or simply caused me to suppress my own feelings.

I am scared because I still love him very much. I miss him. I want us. At the same time, I feel overwhelmed because I do not know if the relationship can survive when we seem to disagree on such a fundamental issue. I worry that no matter how much work I do, it will never be enough unless I admit to something I believe is false.

My goal is not to prove that I am right. My goal is to understand myself better, learn healthier ways to communicate, build trust in my own judgment, and figure out whether a healthy relationship can exist when both people have been hurt and both people feel misunderstood

I am sorry that you are struggling to maintain your relationship.

It sounds like to me that I don't think you should admit to a mistake you don't think you caused.. if you start admitting to things you don't do you open the door to be accused of other things and it becomes a vicious cycle..

Good luck and may peace be with you..🌟

Thank you, he gave me a deadline for today either i admit to him or my therapist or its over

What would admitting to something you didn't do accomplish for you? What about for him?

It sounds like there is more harm it would do than good, especially if you stay together based upon a lie. It also seems that you aren't the only one with trust issues. He seems to have some issues of his own. It may be that he's already made the decision to end things in his mind. If not, I wonder what he thinks he'll get by you admitting to something false.

Ultimately, I encourage you to do right by your values and beliefs.

Best of luck.

It sounds like you're doing a lot of honest self-reflection and taking responsibility for the things you know you need to work on. Accountability doesn't mean admitting to something you don't believe is true. It means owning your actions and their impact, which it sounds like you're already trying to do. A relationship can't be built on forcing someone to confess to something they don't believe they did. Keep focusing on your growth and healing, and remember that your feelings and experiences matter too.
