Hey!

I have posted a few times before and recently things have been going better in my dating life. I’m really trying to notice my triggers and stop projecting onto him.

I have also started the process of being aware that we are two different people with different needs, mindsets and that causes each other to react and act differently, all of which is completely okay.

now this weekend I have been away with the girls, fri-sun morning. I let him know what time I’ll be back bc usually we see each other on weekends as we both work in the week. This time tho he isn’t he’s staying at home. I have automatically been triggered by this and the spiral I’m in is trying to tell me he’s no longer interested as he doesn’t want to see me. Has anyone got any advice at all?

Thanks x

Heyyy theree. It's great that you're working on self-awareness and recognizing the triggers. I understand that it sets alarms when you're apart from him, but it's important to remember that time apart from each other doesn't reflect the strength of your connection with him.

It is also important to openly communicate how you are feeling, having an honest conversation and sharing your thoughts with him. This can help you both understand each other's needs better and strengthen your relationship.

Trust is crucial in every relationship, so giving him the benefit of the doubt can also help build that trust.

Also, you can focus on enjoying time with your friends and for yourself, do things that you enjoy. Keeping yourself busy and maintaining your independence, it doesn't only help with managing your triggers but also helps you feel more secure in your relationship.

Please know you're not alone in this journey. You've got the whole community who got your back.

Best wishes! 💜

repeat your own line ....just because he is doing other things should not be a reason to let your past overthinking or worry to surface....

in a relationship do you want your partner to be a well rounded happy person or a person who has no interests or hobbies that you are not involved in ....or control....

A big way to work on this is to put yourself in his shoes and how would you deal with a partner who has these ideas that an outside interest or spending time away causes so much overthinking and panic.
