Scared to Leave but Ready for Change
Hi everyone, I’m feeling really stuck and could use some support. I’m in a toxic relationship that gives me a lot of anxiety, and deep down I know leaving would be better for me. But I’m so emotionally attached to my boyfriend, and the thought of him with someone else or not caring about me anymore terrifies me. I don’t have many close friends to turn to, and that makes me feel lonely and a bit embarrassed to reach out. I’d love someone to listen, hype me up, and maybe give me advice or motivation to take that step. Has anyone been through this? Thanks for any kind words! 💕
Hi ernmdn. First of all, you are not alone 🫂 Sometimes you may not find people around you to talk about relationship issues, which is quite normal.
I am here to listen. Emotional attachments and being sickly dependent on someone are my weaknesses as well. However, recently I realized the cause of this is no one else but me. I am working on it to increase my life quality.
So I'm here if you would like to share more 💐
@ernmdn
A relationship needs to be honest, communication is key, respect, boundaries, love, both people need to uplift the other. Attachment is not healthy or helpful. I know it's hard and painful but you need to be with someone who you know deep down has your back 💜💕
Hello @ernmdn
I feel the same. And I am also unable to come out of this. What I am presenting to my friend is not what I actually feel.

Hi I recently got out of a three year relationship. I got emotional attach to this girl. I let her in my life but she got way too toxic. She started to control me and her insecurities got in the way too much. I understand it's hard am also struggling to let go. She wants a future with me..but honestly how can there be a future when there is so much hurt and pain and even though they might say "they will change" it's never best to go back to old wounds. Sometimes you just got step back and think for yourself do you really want have a relationship that is toxic? Don't you want have something you do deserve? Pure intentions? Good vibes? Good thoughts for each other. Love is supposed to make you feel happy and cherished. Not overwhelmed and hurt. You deserve happiness not what your partner gives you because that's not love. That toxic and manipulation. So take some time for yourself you got this. You deserve love that is good for your soul.

@ernmdn Sorry it's so hard. You are at a courageous moment. I hope you can come to a very clear decision and either your relationship transforms to what you want or that you can free yourself gracefully and be open to all the good things that can come
Hi @ernmdn
I’m in a similar place right now. I know the relationship I’m in is unhealthy but I still love him too. I’ve had to accept that I needed to change my expectations and not to bet on potential. For me, that means I’m emotionally detaching by being less available, less reactive etc but it has to short term and progressive or it will do me more harm than good.
Be kind to yourself and prioritise your needs. Talk to us in here. You don’t have to feel as if you have nobody to listen to you.
Don't wait. I married mine...almost 30 years and 3 kids and it's way harder that far down the road. Save yourself years of pain. I promise. It will be hard at first but I wouldn't be surprised if you felt better being away. You got this.
