So just out of curiosity. I was curious as to everyone who will share their opinion on the idea of "Self fulfilling prophecy" do you think its real or possible? If so, what brings you to believe it. If you dont believe in it, again...why do t you believe in it? I personally am torn with it because i do believe it is possible in the grand scheme of things, but i also believe that it may not be true but just used as a "get out of jail free card" so that people can place blame on something other than themselves and completely avoid accountability for their actions. Please, tell me your opinions.

@Ryan575,

there's no such thing as a self fulfilling prophecy. It's like a story one creates expecting or hoping something to come true or not.

The harder you tell yourself a story, the harder you might convince yourself, against all odds, that that story is true and you might ignore reality. It's like a dream you want to become true, while you have no influence, no control on the outer world. It's wishful thinking.

The same goes for phrases like "everything happens for a reason". Quite a few people take that as events being predestined. Nope. Things happen.

@Ryan575

I agree that this line of reason seems to be rationalization... or a pass on things. have there been events in our lives that seem to happen at the right time or the absolute wrong one that seem to convince people that it was a plan or destiny
