Space.....

So, i believe that my wife and I are facing another cross roads. I currently have been sleeping on the couch for over a month. Partially because I had quit my BS job that i had that was leading us nowhere (because i am experienced enough, and qualified enough for a much better paying and more fulfilling career that i have been working towards for the better part of 20 years)...i vowed to her that i would sleep on the couch until i found another job but i am having a rough time because the job market within the industry i am aiming for is really bad right now. (Oilfield)...anyway, what im getting at is that now that our eldest son has moved out to attend university...a bedroom has opened up to where i could set up a space of my own and actually sleep in a bed. Now, i made that vow to my wife BEFORE knowing about the extra curricular activities that had been taking place, and now i feel like though there is distance between us with me being exiled to the living room (partially by choice). I feel like moving into the open bedroom is just solidifying the distance. I started planning to organize that room and organize my sons leftover stuff that he did not take with him to creat some space for myself. While i was speaking about these plans, i asked my wife if she wants me to move all of the stuff that i have in her/our room out of there and place it in the other room so that she could have more space to organize her own things. I also told her that though i would do it, that i felt it would just make things more official and increase the "distance" between us...she replied to me to "do what i want to do". I laughed, because i know what i want to do and it has nothing to do with me moving all my things into a different room...i know where i want to be...with her...laying with her in OUR bed...i feel like this is the next cross roads and i. Not sure that there is a correct move to make in this "game of chess"...

@Ryan575

tell her what you want ... express to her how you would like to proceed. The walking on eggshells and "what do you want " or "i don't know do what you want"  conversations is just distance in itself.  this is the limbo i am stuck in and i HATE it. I just want spouse to make one solid decision not well we could do this or that or the other thing.  That sort of stuff is why i did not end my online friendship ..

make decisive moves, "i am moving back into our Room"  ... speak up and talk honestly.  you can say it was about job but it was more why you are on couch.

Beating around the bush waiting for her to say move back you will be on couch or another room from now on.   spouse does this I walk away.   i am not playing "we could do this OR this or something else it if you agree "      That  is not a communication...... sounds like he is negotiating like s child.
