Almost a week ago I was in a car accident (distracted driver hit me head on) outside of some bumps and bruises and a broken finger I am ok. My boyfriend for the first few days was kind and supportive and helpful but within the last 2 days he has become mean. He makes comments about how he has to do everything (I can’t quite use my left hand so there’s lots I can’t do). I got upset and started crying because I had to pick up the rental car and it is different than the car I drove and it made me upset and overwhelmed. He got mad saying be an adult and stop crying over nothing. And made comments about how this whole event has been hard on him and that I have never given any thought to how he is handling it all. He was not in the car at the time, sure i understand he was worried about me. But I was the one in the accident having to deal with the aches and pains and now has to buy a new car.

I don’t find him supportive anymore and just wonder am I wrong. Should I be over the accident after 6 days?

Oh my God.

What's with your bf?

Six days, how could you be over it already .

You've been through a horrible experience.

And where's his compassion and love.

It's amazing to me, he could be complaining for helping you when you cannot do these things for yourself.

How selfish.

I'm sorry you are going through this, you deserve so much better.

If no one has asked, how are you? 💜💕

Thank you for asking how I am. Outside of the first day, he has not once asked me how I am doing or coping. It’s really *** to realize that I cannot even rely on him during something as traumatic as this.

I really do feel for you, you one million percent shouldn't even have to ask, relationships are about turning up and having the other person's back in hard times 💜💕

No, you should not be Over it in a week.   Have you spoke to him about his attitude?   some like this can change if they are called out.

Partners who say they will help and then are supportive for a short time then expect others to move on clearly are not seeing what you experience.  It may show he is more concerned about HIM being the center of attention in relationship and your injury and accident put you first.   if situation was reversed, he would not accept you telling him "ok been a week get over it."

Pay attention to this moment because are you willing to be told you get only a few days to get over all the challenges you will face in life.
