How do you fight the urge to text an ex? It’s only been 3 days since the breakup and I’m feeling so desperate to reach out to him.

@Sadness

Hi, thanks for reaching out. Distraction can be a good way to turn your mind to others things.

Hopefully others will reply with their thoughts to.

Yes, distraction (in a positive way, not like hard-drinking or doing any irresponsible things) and breaking out of the thinking loop may work great.

It may also be helpful to make a small travel back in time: What kind of person you were before you could even imagine meeting this guy? What were your activities like? To whom (which friends or family members) you used to talk? In some cases the gates can be no longer open, but trying to find "the previous (good) version of you" can still be quite refreshing.

I am sorry you having this stress and this pain. I am also sorry for your breakup.

regarding the urge, I learned watching TedX is that going through a breakup is like withdrawal (same symptomes), like your are withdrawing from sugar or alcohol. In this case is dopamine created by the relationship and the need for connection. I hope you have/ find some friends, family, this group, people you feel confortable texting when you want to text him. It can help alleviate the urge until it will be behind you 💪✨️✨️✨️

I am sorry how you feel.

Please be kind to yourself.

DO NOT REACH OUT TO HIM.

you've broke up for a reason. Block him delete his social media from you accounts.

You don't owe each other anything anymore. You have your closure. Without knowing any specifics why you've broken up there's otherwise nothing to be sorry about. You was you and it didn't work out.

Yes allow yourself to feel the grief of the break up but temper that as best you can. Think of all the bad things of him all the things that annoyed you or where he was bad or horrible .

healthy distractions can help when it does get bad and you feel you're spiralling but do not reach out and like I said make it as hard as possible to do it but deleting everything. Read watch TV a film put on your fav song ( mine at the moment kpop demon hunters golden ) and dance like a crazy person what ever works.

There is no time line to heal so be kind to yourself.
