Would it be wrong?

Would it be wrong of me to go out to dinner with a friend who we both have feelings for each other? I’m in a relationship currently that isn’t fulfilling me and the other person is single. I’m not going out with this person to fill that void. I genuinely like being in their presence and talking to them as do they

We don’t expect anything to happen but what if it does??? We have made clear boundaries that this is just a hang out as friends even though there are some underlying feelings about each other.

@brieden

do whatever you feel like doing, but know that if you do go to the dinner, that may start tension between the person you're in relationship with already

also if the relationship isn't fulfilling you and you have feelings for another, leave that relationship asap.

@brieden

If you made clear boundaries and yet are worried about a what if...it sounds like a strong attraction.

in the meantime, maybe you should evaluate if your unfulfilling relationship should end so you are free to find someone you enjoy and be happy with.

IMO we cannot chose when and whom we find love. I am just seeing so many who have a backup relationship that we hold onto as a safety net or fallback plan.  How would you feel if the situation was reversed and your gf was to dine with a friend who could develop to be more.

@brieden

If there are mutual feelings, even a “friendly” dinner can cross emotional lines. The real issue is why you’re seeking connection outside your relationship. Ask yourself how you’d feel if your partner did the

same. Sort out your current relationship first, for your peace and theirs.

I think the fact you're here asking this question answers your own question.

Despite your words saying it's all friendly and with boundaries . You yourself are questioning those with this question.

You're free to do what ever you want to do.

Please try look at your current relationship and either decide to whole hearted work on it or split before pursuing something with your friend.

The situation with the dinner although you say well intended can be seen as an issue. If the shoe was was on the other foot and if you were in a good relationship and your partner did this what would you think?

I sincerely hope I'm not coming across as too judgey that's not my intent I wish you the best in your ongoing pursuit of happiness.
