trouble making sense of emotional wound

I've been ruminating about past experiences, particularly some hurtful words from my crush (you are, were and will remain stupid) , and I find it hard to make sense of them. It feels like an emotional wound that I can't move past. Is this a normal reaction, or could it indicate a deeper issue? How can I address this in a healthy way?

i feel phrases like "progress is inevitable" helps oppose the stress her words create but then i think i can't make progress is making sense of her words properly.. it feels like garbage thought in my mind and i feel disability in making sense of it. i don't know how to ignore this statement..

It can be hard when something is said that cuts to the core.  we can keep coming back to it a long time after it was said.

Words can stick with you but you are giving someone too much power in letting these bother you, again and again.   Often words are said in the heat of the moment and sometimes to be the most painful thing they can think of.  It is not easy .....but do not let these insults live on .... if this person believed what they said then let them.

YOU are more and this person will not have the chance to know you...... words. They have no power over you their words are not true so forget the word and the person.
