Hi All,

I have been in a relationship since last 2.5 years. 1st year everything was okay. But then my gf told me that she is suffering from depression and the symptoms are bit severe compared to first time she was diagonised about 2 yrs before we came into relationship. {We are kind of in long distance relationship since beginning considering me in full time job and she persuing her grad.}

She asked me if i want to move on. I thought for sometime but decided to be with her no matter what. By then both of us had told at our home about each other. I didn't though mention this to my parents. We continued to be in relationship but as time passed by she kind of started pushing me away.

Month across month she would block me and ask me to move ahead but then me still sticking to her led her to come back. This went for few months till this Jan when i last met her after which she has been talking very less and more determined to push me away.

She has almost stopped talking to me. Though i have been in touch with her mom. Both of them are asking me to move on for better of both of us. I told my parents a week about her depression and they also told me to move on as future with her will be tough.

I know she loves me a lot for sure as recently on our anniversary i sent her a gift and she unblocked me and expressed how much she loved that gift.. She talked with me for few days before blocking me again.

My heart is saying that a disease shouldnt be a reason to move on and if yoy truly love her nothing should come as hindrance.. or whatever comes can be handled with love and care.

But mind is saying that what if what others are saying comes true and my decision will ruin both of our lives.

Well when everyone i know have been same side as my mind my heart is willing to stay there. Trust her, myself and our love.

I know this decision has to be mine but if someone can share experience.

PS: i have already read numerous posts already on internet.

It is a gamble either way ......... we do not know what the future holds and frankly it will be a tough road ....

sounds like she pulls away to try to save you from the pain and issues you will face with someone who has a history of mental illness issues......her family seems to understand how hard they feel it will be too.

we can love someone with all our heart but know deep inside we cannot be with them ........ many reasons and while virtue is great i have found it is sometimes misguided. you have looked for answers you are searching your heart and mind my words may not help ..... but in one way or another most of us face a tough decision in our lives too.
