@resourcefulLemon1114

he sounds very insecure.   The comment about being too family oriented is also a red flag.  Catch it early and set boundaries or you will be dealing with a controlling narcissist of a BF.

@resourcefulLemon1114 What did he treat you before the cousin wedding? I don't like that he cursed you, like a kiddo. But there is something behind it.

@resourcefulLemon1114 i agree with the comments, the age gap talks by itself, sounds like he wants to isolate you from your peers and it's a obvious toxic trait that can be translated by a narcissist or to extreme abusers and even more. They first want you to detach from your family, friends, searching every mistakes. Also men in their 30s targetting women in their beginning 20s, usually they don't have the same goals as a each other and can lead to stress and depression. Well communication is obviously important but from what you say, it's look like a red flag

" A Korean study from 2015Trusted Source found that age gaps in long-term relationships could impact each partner’s likelihood of experiencing depression. In particular, it found that same-aged couples had the lowest rates of depression, while couples with an age gap of 3 years or more had slightly higher rates."

While this does sound like a problematic relationship worthy of concern, I respectfully disagree that the age gap is the problem in and of itself. The study you show uses a depression scale measured 0-30 and the differences due to age gaps influence the score by .6 in the worst case scenario. While this is "statistically significant" there really isn't any real world clinical difference here.

He sounds extremely possessive if he wants constant assurance of your location. It's also a red flag that he believes you are too "family oriented" - there is nothing wrong with being close with your family!

You have a right to be where you want to be without having to justify yourself to your partner. Healthy relationships generally do not come with this baggage. Please consider if you want to stay in a relationship like this for the coming years. Can you confidently say yes?

Run away from that relationship, it will only get worse
