Help! I'm losing my best friend/crush with my anxiety
He has told me that he's keeping his distance because he believes he contributes to both my clinginess and anxiety. I get easily overwhelmed and I've lashed out several times at him. He's frustrated and I don't want to lose him for good, he claims that I won't loose him but I feel like this might be the last straw.
@MiddyRants@MiddyRants To understand the situation better you may want to imagine what it's like to be the boy you have a crush on. Place yourself in his shoes. Ask yourself what your boundaries are. I do really hear that you perhaps feel a sense of abandonment after lashing out to him and him ignoring you. Your thoughts are really saying "I don't want to be alone" or "I want you to change your mind about me". Please know it's ok to make mistakes and work on those mistakes. Can you reflect on a time you apologised to someone? What was your intention behind saying this? Has someone ever had a crush on them back ? What do you feel he really meant by his response? Another thing to think about is how consistent is your displays of romantic behaviour towards him and how are you to feel if someone has a crush on you but you don't like them back? It's understandable that you feel hurt and rejected but please ask yourself if the situation were offered again where you had a crush on someonelse what would you do?
Take care and wishing you a journey towards self-acceptance!
