i slept with the absolute love of my life’s best friend to try and get over him. then i found out that he actually cares for me and i regret sleeping with his friend with my whole heart. i hurt him so bad, but how do i hold onto him? i would marry this man right this second, but i’m worried i hurt him so bad he won’t come back.

It does sounds like a royal mess unfortunately... but technically you didn't do anything wrong.
You weren't in any commitment and you didn't even know that he's interested. What's done is done, it's in the past and no longer within your control to change it.
What are things that still within your control and you may be able to change now?
