SELF LOVE, and the importance of SELF LOVE, before engaging in one relationship .
Everyone is looking for love, to have one relathionship, but even when we want to connect with someone we like, we usually forget to think if we are really ready to go forward to find someone and maybe, one relathionship.
The thing that i said that we usually forget is what tells you if you are really prepare or not.
I'm talking about SELF-LOVE.
To address the following topic, let's start with some questions for greater self-reflection.
Are you the type of person who does his best to help others, often without expecting anything in return? Or, have you noticed that you constantly try to get some kind of approval from the other, leaving aside your real desires and feelings?
I start with these thoughts because, the lack of self-love can have a much greater weight than we think in our life, reaching the point, for example, that you do not feel worthy of what you really want, of limiting yourself to accepting what you have, as a not so healthy love, a job that doesn't satisfy you, friendships that don't please you so much.
For each of these issues, there is a justification for the importance of self-love, such as the fact that when we relate, we must be aware that our partner cannot completely cover our needs, in fact, this attachment to the concept of someone “ complete ”brought us a distorted image of love, so that we limit ourselves to a certain point of development, being able to create a bond of dependence with the other, generating fear, anguish and suffering, and this is where that famous concept of “Love yourself so that you can love someone”, for what he is, and not for what you lack. As for the concept of doing a lot for the other, evaluate whether in this attitude, you put yourself aside, you expect someone who is grateful enough to value you for not giving yourself the deserved value.
Now that we have defined a little the strength that the lack of self-love can exert in us, the question comes “but how do I love myself more?”. It is very common to hear motivational phrases such as “you need to like yourself more”, but in practice we do not know where to start. Start by reflecting on what you have been doing for yourself. Do you love yourself? We often value the love our family has for us, our friends, partners, but what about you? Have you loved each other? What was the last proof of love you gave yourself?
If you allow yourself a treat, feel worthy of something that is just for you, and nobody else, something that gives you pleasure, that with certain frequency, you will learn that you can make yourself happy, and gradually you will include it in your life in other ways. Buy yourself a gift, go to therapy, allow yourself to relax at a time when you would normally feel guilty. Be allowed!
Hellooo @KACOSMIC ! ❤
Oh My Goodness, this is such a great post, absolutely loved reading through it, very powerful, impactful and super agreeable!
So very needed we love ourselves first, and not seek what we're lacking in someone else !
There's this phrase I'd like to share "You bring your own light , others around just illuminate by it "
We all are capable of self love , and giving ourselves what we need, super okay to feel the need for outside validation and acceptance , but it all truly begins when we first accept and start loving ourselves , with all of our strengths and weaknesses alike ! We must be the most important person for ourselves! And then ofcourse, anyone we meet is a part of that shared love , but not the only thing that defines love for us ! 😊❤
@KACOSMIC
This is great information. I have left myself out for so long. Denying myself of many things and indeed feel guilty when I do indulge. Like I am unworthy. It is time for me to start doing things that I love.
