Throwing things

Is throwing things violence? Is throwing thing abuse? I keep searching this on the internet, but I haven’t gotten a clear answer. My husband has anxiety and it manifests through anger. He also is a recovering alcoholic. Last night he threw all of the mail across the house. This is not new. He doesn’t throw it at me or my young children. He has never hit me. But he will seclude himself, not answer direct questions (ex: Do you need a spoon?) and speak to me through gritted teeth. I think he thinks this is a normal response? Am I being abused?

I think he doesn’t know how to communicate well and so he only does it through anger. This can be a form of mental and verbal abuse yes.

Abuse or not, this isn't a relationship you want I'm sure.

I don't think that it's abuse, maybe just him having anger issues. My friend tend to throw things all around when she gets frustrated. Maybe in that moment he was frustrated, it's difficult handling these Situations, remind him of your children. He should be a role model for them.

@Fiery154 He has an anger issue and also seems like he is going through something but isn't telling you verbally what he's experiencing. It's very unhealthy. I would seek help for him and you if you have developed trauma from his behavior.
