Is it possible to live without sex? Is there a way to do so and still be happy? The only person ive had consensual sexual contact with is my husband of 10 years and he is leaving me for someone else. We has 9 years af a damn near perfect relationship. I have no desire to be with anyone else again and am trying to find ways to cope with that. Problem is i have a high sex drive and i need to find a way to be happy without sex forever....any suggestions?

It's totally possible to live a happy and fulfilling life without sex, as there are many others sensations, emotions, goals, kinds of relationship that can bring meaning and joy to one's life. But it's totally natural to desire sex anyway, particularly if you have a high libido. I know you feel like you can't do that with anyone else ever, but life has ways to lead us to happiness again. Right now, you can give yourself time, take care of yourself, do the things you love, focus on things that bring you happiness. There are things you're gonna miss, but the first step to get back to a situation when you can consider sex again is exactly taking care of yourself. As for your libido, of course you can deal with it by yourself or with the help of some specific tool, it's not the same as having someone with you, but it's a healthy way to take care of both your libido and your emotions.

Sex and love don't necessarily have to go together, so maybe one day you'll be able to separate the two. And even if you don't feel like that, don't rule out love just yet. Care for yourself now, and let time and life do the rest. I wish you the best!

@Safarigirl13 I think you need to focus on healing your heart first... You don't have to be celibate for anyone unless you yourself really want it. Maybe it's how you feel at the moment, but feelings will change through time. You need to let go of the past to reconstruct yourself

Relationship part of things aside(thats a while other nightmare) i have issues with sex itself. Im 29 and have only had sex with my husband and im the only person he has had sex with. The thought of being with someone who has been with somone else grosses me out. But its either that or never have sex again..

@Safarigirl13

Your issue seems to be psychological and moral. And you are still in love with your husband and can't think of anyone else in an intimimate situation. This is very natural at this stage. Give yourself time and space and think of this issue later. And yeah you might eventually click with someone who is in a similar situation like yours or even someone who never had sex with anyone. Do not outrightly rule out any chances for yourself for a good sex life in future.
