Mom said I had a nice butt...

So I am a 16 yr old female. I am somewhat "developed." I mean, I have curves and hips and whatnot. (But no chest). Me and mom were discussing this type of stuff thru text and she told me I had a nice butt. Admittedly, it made me feel weird, but it was a genuine compliment. And one time she said "lemme see your booty" when she wanted to see how my jean shorts fit me. Then yelled at me when I protested. She also slaps my butt sometimes, but not too often. I dunno, I could be thinking way too deep into this. Actually, I know I am. I always over react. It's just that for some reason I'm kinda self concious about my butt. Have any of y'all experienced this? Am I over reacting?

I DON'T think you are overreacting at all. You have the right to tell your mom that you are uncomfortable about what she is saying and doing to you. If she is a good mother she should understand that you are young and you are at a very self conscious time of your life and that she should do and say things that would make you feel more comfortable with yourself.

@zenob3433 While I agree, I really don't think your mother means any harm by it. If anything she is trying to help you be more comfortable with your body, but perhaps her method of doing so doesn't work for you.

You're allowed to feel uncomfortable if someone does that, maybe let her know how you feel about it? I mean it's your body after all.

Spruce, if you're posting about it, then the issue has come to a point where it's making you feel uncomfortable, methinketh.

one time, my mom's hand got too much on my lap and i showed that i didn't want her hand so close to my lap. i kind-of winced away and withdrew. just something i didn't like. maybe other sons like that, but i didn't. but she hasn't done it since.

just want to make a note: bisexuals exist.

I really have to agree here. I mean yes there is positive support, but this is bordering on humiliation. Yes, she is your mommy but mommy does not have to get that close and cuddly to you to say don't worry about your behind. I just wonder if there have been more incidents after this. I'm not saying this is 911 level stuff yet though, but a stern growl should stop this.
