Should I abandon any hope?
To try and put it succinctly, I've never had a close relationship with anyone for my entire 21 years of life, and I've been shot down every time I've tried to flirt with/ask someone out. I'm very lonely and sexually frustrated. However, I'm also a very shy, quiet, awkward loner with few hobbies, and I suffer greatly from self esteem/self hatred and low self confidence. So I realise that I project absolutely nothing but repulsively unattractive signals. Should I just abandon any hope of attracting women at all for the next 5 - 10 years minimum it takes to straighten my mind out?
@C137RickSanchez I've found that it's difficult to attract someone compatible when you're feeling this way, but it's not impossible. I've been on a lot of dates while I felt lost emotionally, but I didn't particularly enjoy them. I realized the best thing for me was finding out what my passion was - what I'd like to do with my life. Now that I've got that and my job stuff together, I just moved to a new apartment in a nice town, and I'm feeling much better about myself. Probably in a better state to attract. But who knows? The lack of sex can be frustrating sometimes, but trust me that you're not alone in feeling that way, nor are you a loser for not having a dating/sex life. Your path will naturally be very different from mine, so it may very well be that your person is just around the corner without all the self work occurring beforehand. Maybe you're meant to grow and learn with that special person. But the message I'd like to convey is, it's OK if they aren't just around the corner. It doesn't make you any less of a person. Please don't abandon hope!
Love tends to come to you when you're not seeking it. Yes I think working on yourself is a good way to improve your life and prepare for any possible future relationship as well
