Am I a bad person for wanting to leave?

I've been dating a boy for about 5 months and I lost my virginity to him. When we first got together, everything felt amazing. It was "the puppy love" phase. However, the more I learn about him and I learn about myself, I realize I'm not what he thinks I am. We're only 17 and he's talking about kids and marriage. I'm not ready for this. He's a great guy but I feel like he's not in love with me, he's in love with the idea of me. He sees me as this girl who is gonna be a homemaker and live this great white picket fence life and I'm not that at all. I care about him so much, but I want him to see the reality. He doesn't want to accept it. I know I would be happier if I could just be free and do my own thing but I can't bear to hurt him again. I almost left but I went back to him because it hurt to see him sad and I felt guilty. Now I feel like it's too late to do anything about it. On top of that, I don't feel like I have any real friends I can talk to about it. I can only talk to my best friend every other week if I'm lucky and she's the only person who I feel really connected to right now and it's just really hard.

Hello. You are both too young. Do not assume you know everything about yourself and do not assumes he soes either. You both are evolving and this won't stop. Too young. You have so many years ahead. Don't just drop this person now because you may be regret this ij the future. Desire changes. Focus and wanting changes. I know. Kids and housewife stuff is not something you want now. Okay I get it. If you wanted this it would be more weird. But you're normal you see. It's nothing wrong with you. But at the same time you must see that this other person doesn't know what he likes too! Because you are both too young. He maybe inspired from his parents and wants to mimick them. Maybe he just thinks that's the right thing for him. For his future. But that's far from what he really is and far from what he is really going to do with his life. We all change our minds so quickly. Come on. You want to ditch him because of that?

Maybe this is only an idea in his mind that he can't even bring to reality! He is a kid after all. He thinks he's gonna do it now? Haha no.

If you want to stay with him stay. That's Nota reason to say goodbye

@Kyskid NOPE! He might be just in love/hormones and is really into you but there is absolutely no reason why you can't feel like you're not ready/this is too much, etc.

You're 17. We're not in the Dark Ages or whevever where people typically only had a life expectancy of 30. You have the right to how you feel.

@Kyskid

Do yourself and him both a favor before you get even more involved. Make sure he isnt going to become violent first. But be open and honest and break it off humainly

@Kyskid

Just for perspective, I'm in my 40s and recently left my husband (whom I met in my 30s) because I realized I didn't love who he really was. I thought I knew him, but when things got tough with the kids it became obvious that he wasn't the person I thought he was. It's been a heartbreaking process, and is in some ways worse that when a loved one dies since whenever I see him I am reminded that the person I loved never really existed.

The right person won't want all the things you want. The right person will want to work with you to decide what you both want together.

@peacefulforest75 when we got together I thought he was perfect but the longer we've been together he's becoming more controlling. I love him but the way things are going, this isn't something I want. I really appreciate your response, it means a lot to feel understood. ♥️

Sometimes is just the euphoria of love's heat that makes some youn men think of children and family as they think that is the right thing to do by you or the "normal next step". In the euphoria of love and hormones and dedication and devotion they feel like that some of them, forgetting that you are a free being too, just at the begining of discovering life and maybe you wabt to explore things like other loves, travel, introspection, education, career and just have a relationship for fun and experience but keep your freedom...

You do what you think is best for you, he may hurt but in time as he matures he may understand one day...

Just do what is right for you...there are young women at 17 who want children and there are those who don't. It depends on what our spirits want, even if we don't know what we want if that makes any sense...

Life is complicated and difficult, just try to be your own best friend and look after what you want if ypu know, if not, just being free works...He wil hurt, but that will be his own saga and one day he will understand...
