How do you know when you should stay or leave?

My boyfriend and I have been back together for roughly 4 months. We dated for a little over a year and a half and then broke up for a year and decided we wanted to give it another shot. And now here we are. I was a heavy drinker in the past and lied a lot to him. He finally had enough rightfully so and broke things off with me. I didnt see it until he broke up with me that he was kind of verbally abusive. Like telling me you cant turn a hoe into a house wife and how much I would miss him when he leaves me and how I would end up homeless with a drug dealer boyfriend. Little things would add up and it made me doubt myself so much. I think thats part of the reason I drank so heavily. But I shouldnt blame that on him, it was my choice. Well now here we are today. I gave up drinking but I will have the occasional glass of wine every couple months. But I still feel like he asks so much of me. Like he doesnt truly accept me completely. He tells me what I can and cant wear which shouldnt be a big deal I know but it gets frustrating. Like I cant express myself through my style because he always has something to say. And he wants me to tell him every place I go. And gets mad when I dont. I love him so much, and can see a life with him but I dont know if I would be 100% happy... what do I do? I love him and care for him so much. I feel lost.

He's not giving you freedom. This could turn into something much worse. You should NEVER stay with someone like this. If you don't leave him soon, he could become your worst nightmare.

From reading what you said, and from my own experience, I see that this is very hard for you.

I know that you love this person, and you don't want to give them up, but trust me sometimes the pain is better than the bad results of staying together.

I had to break up with my boyfriend because we relied on each other too much to a point where it worsened our bad habits, while I still miss him I understand it was what is best.

I can't tell you what to do, but I will suggest taking some time to think about the pros and cons of staying with him, and the pros and cons for leaving, write them down if you have to. Then make a decision keeping your safety and personal well being as number one priority.

You are amazing.

I know this is hard but I believe in you.
