I feel sorry for a former friend

An ex-friend and I work at the same university in two different departments, which happens to be in the same building and we are both Aspies/Auties. That said, we are not on good terms along with the relationship being a vicious cycle where we would talk to each other because

1. He thinks he better than I am because he knows how to socialize with NTs and has told me that he's higher functioning than I am.
2. He has talked down to me and acts like I am stupid and that I don't know anything
3. He has insulted me in front of my friends by calling me "Weird."
4. Back in the spring, he even tried to meet for an apology but I didn't cooperate because I got the impression that he wanted something from me. I just avoided him and ignored him for a while as a result.
5. I found out through the grapevine that he has not been telling the whole story to my other friends. Rather, he has been telling them that I "Don't like him" and that I blocked him on facebook.

On number 5, he emailed me last year and told me that he didn't want us to be friends but he wanted us to cordial to each other. When we see each other, I say hi to him and he rolls his eyes and he ignores me.

Though I agree we are not a good fit for each other for those reasons, I decided that I feel sorry for him. So I attempted to reach out this morning on facebook and tell him that I not only feel sorry for him but that I forgive him is that I don't really know what's going on in his life. However, I couldn't get past the "I feel sorry for you" part without him electing to block me on facebook messenger.
