Is my relationship toxic or just going through the patches like a regular couple?
I would love advice right now, my boyfriend and i have been dating for a year and a month. The first couple months were amazing, we showed our love and affection for each other even while there was people staring. We had this really strong trust and most of all we took things slow. After i would say the 6th month things began to become rocky, we constantly argued and little by little we lost trust for each other. When we fought it was about the small things, you know? What i wore that day to school and how it showed to much, or that I talked to a guy and he was jealous. The thing is these fights we have it's definitely both our faults but i'm letting you know my side, he would get jealous, possessive and rude. He would get mad at the people i snapchat, text or even talk to in person. I would sometimes be limited to what i wear because he wouldn't want anyone else staring at. But after a while he wouldn't get mad at the circumstances he would get mad at me, accusing me of talking and sending nudes to other guys, wearing certain outfits to get other people's attentions. And it's just been the same thing over and over but what hurts and gets me annoyed the most is that he's being hypocritical, he does similar things and i chose to never act the way he does. It came to a point where we would both "break up" with each other almost daily to hurt each other. There's things i could go more into detail but from this, can anyone please give advice or guidance?
He's trying to control you. He's insecure and he's pushing those insecurities onto you by accusing you of inappropriate behavior based only on what you wear or don't wear and who you speak to. NO ONE but yourself should decide who you DO and DON'T talk to. I understand you love him but he is being extremely toxic AND possessive and this can be dangerous in the long run.
@LPyMP
he admitted that he was sorry for being controlling but said that it was his way of showing that he cared or that he does it because he cares about me

He is controlling, and he is excusing and minimizing his behavior by saying "Im this way because I care about you". Someone who is truly sorry wouldn't find excuses or trying to justifying the behavior. I don't think he will change unless he seeks counseling because the issues he has will definetly affect your mental health and soon you will walk on eggshells. The relationship have become toxic because of his behavior and the way he is justifying it.

thats an excuse. My ex brother in law treated my sister the same way and THEN he began to physically abuse her. Please walk away from this man.
