It is okay to confront an acquaintance who hurt me in the past?

Hi:

I am here because I recently got into it with someone who decided they didn't like me after spending one afternoon and evening with me at a meet-up. She basically became very angry with me and was extremely hostile towards me during the carpool ride home. Why things got so bad that when she started running the meet-up, I was isolated from the group and blocked on Facebook.

Meanwhile it not only hurt me but it made me very angry as well because she was just very mean to me. The problem is that I let it sit for a few years before recently finding her contact information as I have another facebook account by writing her a message. Once again, she became nasty with me and threw a hissy fit on her Facebook feed and said nasty things to me and called me names while trying to scare me via message. She called me a "Stalker" and a "Liar" and said she would get a restraining order next time. She even turned three of my friends who I knew in that group against me. Two unfriended me and the other blocked me.

@Summershy considering she's already threatened you with a restraining order, I would cease trying to contact her. From the sound of it, her anger at you is more about her than you. I am very sorry she hurt you. I've been in a similar situation, altho not on Facebook, but rather in a small group of friends... She got in the middle and turned everyone against me until they finally all ended their relationships with me. Some just ghosted. Sometimes we can't have resolution with the person directly, but that doesn't have to stop you from getting some relief from how the situation left you feeling. There are exercises you can do alone where you speak aloud what you need to say to this person, to release it from your mind. Imagine her sitting quietly and listening to you. You don't have to talk about the forgiveness. just stating the facts of what happened and how it made you feel. Then you release her. That just involves saying it and visualizing releasing her, cutting any imaginary ties of energy to that person and letting her go. Now I am not saying that it will magically erase what happened, but if you can do it and even release a little bit of your anger and hurt from her... it might feel better for you. You may even want to repeat the exercise and release a little each time til it doesn't bother you anymore. You may even decide to wish her the best [albeit not necessarily in your life socially], just in her own life. If it lightens the load of emotion to do this, it might be worth trying. I hope this helps.

@inventiveHouse2965 It hurt me because a couple of years ago, I was trying to invite that group, not including her, because she refused to have anything to do with me to celebrate my birthday. The leader of the meet-up told me, "I am going to a Halloween Party at this Girl's house." Looking back, that was a stab because she knew this girl didn't like me.
