I caught my husband in a huge lie and presented the evidence to him. It wasn’t cheating but it was still something that I considered pretty major. When I brought it up he became defensive and I feel crazy.

Many people get on the defense because they don’t expect to be caught so it’s unexpected. How long ago was it you confronted him? Unless this is not out of his character to hide things, he may very well come around and decide to explain himself
to you once tensions calm down
