Literally unable to think of anything but him a year later.
My fiancé and partner of 10 years (friends for almost 18 years) left me suddenly last year and since I’ve been unable to go more than 5 minutes without thinking of him. Whenever I try to think of anything he’s all I can think about. He was kind of awful to me, especially during the breakup. But that’s not worth going into detail about. I don’t wan’t anyone else, I’ve lost interest in every hobby I had, i just sit around and think about him all day. I have dreams and nightmares about him every night,I cry about him still daily, I’m completely unable to move on.
Is this even remotely normal? He was my first love. Now I’m 32 and alone and it feels like there is zero point to life anymore.

First loves IMO are super hard to get over .................
because our dreams and romanticism is on full speed. This is the Disney version of i met one first try and they fit....... Over the years time people grow and change and not always together or at the same time ........ but those who are with the " childhood or high school sweetheart " want to ignore if and WHEN issues appear because they have never waded into the dating pool and not sure they ever want to......
we overlook flaws and rationalize other things ....... we want to believe that this is the ONE.......
Have you ever have a person say something like "the dating pool is shallow and not good your so lucky you found your person etc."...
I used to but i see now i never wanted to give up on my over romanticized ideas and would have been better off letting go.
