Online dating
Hello 7cups :) I have gotten out of a long-term relationship last year and since then I've been trying online dating. However my luck in these apps seems to be really bad. No messages, no interesting conversations, no responses... During these difficult times and all restrictions is hard to meet people "in real life" so I don't see other alternatives than using dating apps. However, as I explained before, I'm not having a nice "online dating" experience and this is affecting my self steem. I blame the way I look that guys don't find my pictures attractive enough to initiate a conversation. I get fed up of the apps, delete them but a couple of days later, I start using them again. It's kind of like an addiction but with no positive rewards. How are your experiences with dating apps? Thanks for reading :)
@brightPlum9077 Thanks for sharing it here...it's completely understandable that online dating would start to feel like an emotional rollercoaster, especially after a break up and when real-life connections are so hard to find...when we don't get the kind of responses we are hoping for, we start questioning our self-worth and gets discouraged...but, please remember that your worth is not defined by messages or matches on online dating app...don't let those experiences convince you that you are not attractive or interesting person to talk with...the right people will appreciate you for what you are, and not just your photos or the bio...so, stay positive and value yourself...

Thank you for sharing all of that, it sounds like you’ve been through a really tough time with both your breakup and the challenges of online dating. I can hear how discouraging it feels when the effort doesn’t bring the connection you’re hoping for, and how it’s been affecting your self-esteem. I don’t share my own experiences, but I’m here to listen if you’d like to talk more about how this cycle with the apps has been making you feel.
@brightPlum9077 I get that you have got out of a long term relationship. And you Make efforts to find one on online by dating. I'm sorry that you don't find any matches. I believe that it will take time for a good thing to happen . Wishing you all the best:-)
I feel your frustration with dating apps, and you definitely are not alone. There have been many recent discussions in various forums about how dating apps are actually gamified, because their goal as a business is to keep you using the app, not necessarily to find your match. Your feelings about the difficulty in meeting someone organically are very valid too - and also echoed by so many people who are struggling with the same thing. Just know you are not alone - it is not just you and there is nothing wrong with you!
If it helps any, you might want to connect with a group called. Burned Haystack, as they have some support and strategies specifically for women using dating apps who are trying to find a genuine relationship. I wish you all the best in your search!
@brightPlum9077 That sounds frustrating, especially when it can start to affect your self-esteem. Dating apps can be so hit or miss and often don't reflect your actual worth or attractiveness. it makes sense that you can feel stuck in the cycle too, however, you're not alone. A lot of people struggle with the same experience. It's important to remember that this doesn't define you, and your heart is what matters most. I noticed that this post was a while ago, so I hope that things have gotten better for you since :)

It sounds like online dating has become a frustrating cycle for you. You hope it'll work, feeling rejected when it doesn't, deleting the apps out of exhaustion, then reinstalling them because you don't see another way to meet people right now. And each time that happens, it chips away at how you see yourself. That sounds really demoralizing.
