Relationship Stress

My fiancée and I are not getting along well at all. We both have things going on in our lives that are difficult and trying to work on them separately while working on our relationship at the same time. However, it doesn't even feel like I'm in a relationship right now. She's so distant and I'm doing everything I can to make her feel safe and loved without being overbearing to give her the space she needs. I'm not sure what else I can do and I feel like I'm losing my fiancée 😔. Does anyone have any advice they can give me? I'm trying to be patient and kind.

It's sounds like you've really been trying hard to make things work, I know that's not easy, but good for you!

It can definitely be frustrating to try and hold down a relationship when both people involved are under a lot of stress. I'm glad you're reaching out! Have you suggested 7cups to your fiance as well? Do you think the two of you might benefit from unloading to a listener individually to relieve some stress?

I have a small idea of what may be going on, although I would need more information about the relationship you two have. I will point out a few things based on the information you provided here.

Based on what I'm observing, she stopped putting her best foot forward for whatever reason. A woman who's distant is when she no longer feels comfortable and safe, there could be various reasons such as; 1) The person is over-pursuing her while she barely initiate any contact which it turns her off and she backs away without knowing the reasons, 2) When a person is not standing up for himself which makes her back away, 3) When she doesn't feel heard and understood, 4) When the person is doing and saying things that does not communicate confidence, 5) If there have been a lot of arguments recently, 6) If the person constantly brings personal issues on the relationship for an extended period of time. These are some of the common reasons, I can't identify the specific one because there's not enough information.

I'm sure that right now you are feeling fearful, with thoughts you could lose her so it makes you do more and more because you feel it'll cause a reaction from her.
