i always get anxious in relationships. I always feel like their out to get me, to hurt me. Like my mom hurt me. She cheated on my dad and still hasn’t admitted to it. She’s still a narcissist and it’s caused great pain to my entire family. I’ve seen the effects it can cause in people, the emotional damage. I blame my self a lot of the time. I never know when someone is treating me how I’m supposed to be treated. I give way too many chances because I always want to please. God please keep giving me the strength and guiding me where I’m supposed to be. If this person is for me, help me see that. Help me be patient and to open my heart fully.

@Elizabethblanco1111 The love you give comes back to you through some way - I believe in this. Your parents relation doesn't have to repeat with you. You are your own person. If you think you are too people pleasing you can make changes accordingly. I can understand your anxiety though but we are all probably having some concerns and worries in relationships. You can only learn about people once you've engaged with them. Keep praying to God, its beautiful. Sending you good wishes.

You are your own person. I know it is hard to not compare and I know your anxiety might some times play up but you can always learn from other mistakes. Always remember to treat people the way you would want to be treated

@Elizabethblanco1111 I'm sorry that you had those experiences with your mom and your family growing up. I've been in a similar position, and I'm sorry that you feel that it impacted you in a way that makes it difficult for you to form healthy relationships now.
And I can also see how far you have walked: you are able to recognize your own patterns of self-blame, doubts about how others treat you, and your tendency to please people. That requires introspection and self-awareness, which can be painful to do, but you are doing a fine job at it, and I commend you for it.
I am hopeful for you.

@Elizabethblanco1111 I know what has happened between your parents must have been hard and difficult for you and most have affected you on how you see things, but you need to know you are different and you are not your mom or dad, just believe you are worthy of good love and good love will come to you.
