Words for a former boss / coworker?

I can't be the only one with a former boss or coworker that I wish I could say something to - some because I wish I could let them know how much they inspired me or helped me, and others who I wish I could tell off for how they treated me! What would you say to yours if you had the chance?

@Anomalia. My former boss was a jerk, I was a contractor and he called my company to meet me at the end of a work day and had me fired with made up reasons, I was a supervisor, I never even had the opportunity to defend myself.

I had a coworker who was much older than me. She was smart and a very good social worker. I was going through a lot at the time in a relationship. One evening I had a blowout argument with my SO and left the house. I had nowhere to go and ended up going to my office. This coworker was there. She was working late and saw the mess that I was. We spoke for a while, and she invited me to stay with her for the night just to let things subside. We just talked for a while. She was not judgmental and did not shun me for being young and naive. She was just very nice and did something nobody else would have done, and I was just so completely grateful. One day at work though, I made a snotty comment on a bad day about her, and she happened to have walked in without me noticing. It wasn't so much about her, as it was about the fact that the task we were doing was only because she asked for it so we still had to do it even though nobody else cared if we did it anymore. It just came out really snotty, and she heard me say it. I felt awful the minute I said it, because I was just in a mood and had nothing against her. The look on her face just broke my heart, and even though I played it off til this day I feel horrible thinking about it. She had been so kind and helpful to me that night, and I made that comment and never said I was sorry. She probably still thinks I'm the worst person ever, but if I could see her today, I would tell her how sorry I was for that comment and I meant nothing bad towrads her. She was the best person there I knew and was so good at what she did. I was just a snot while working there because I was so miserable in my own life I took it to work sometimes and that was wrong of me. So yeah, if I saw her I would just tell her how sorry I was.

@rollingthunder Admitting you're wrong is huge. I'm impressed and hope that somehow you can either talk with this person or that they sense that you really do have a good heart and didn't mean anything personal. Really, this is so amazing...you are one great human being! May your humility and honesty be rewarded. Peace!
