Positive Affirmations!
Welcome back to the Self-Care Lounge!
Today's session will be on Positive Affirmations.

What are positive affirmations?
Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. When you say them often, and believe in them, you can start to make positive changes.
Why should we use positive affirmations?
🌟It helps to motivate us- Reciting affirmations can motivate us to hold onto truths when we’re struggling.
🌟It helps to give us a different outlook on life- Practicing positive affirmations makes you feel more optimistic and happier with a clearer perspective on what you want in life.
🌟It helps to boost confidence- Positive affirmations help you learn to be the best version of yourself, so you no longer have to pretend to be anyone else.
Activity: When we feel sad, anxious, or scared, we can start to have negative thoughts about ourselves. Positive affirmations are statements that help us cope by reminding us of our strengths! Let’s create our own affirmations that we can use. Start by choosing words that you think are your strengths or you would like them to be.
Brave; Loyal; Funny; Talented; Intelligent; Motivated; Reliable; Respectful; Easy-going; Confident; Cool; Responsible; Kind; Optimistic; Strong; Gifted; Hardworking; Patient; Smart; Resilient; Wise; Determined; Friendly; Understanding; Caring; Generous; Amazing; Unique; Warm; Welcoming; Compassionate; Positive; Happy
Using the words that you have chosen, come up with 1-3 positive affirmations that you can use the next time you’re feeling sad, anxious, discouraged, hopeless or scared! You can also list words associated with your strengths and use them as a reminder of how great you are.
