Gender Dysphoria

I'm a Reformed Christian male and struggling with Gender Dysphoria. I often have sleepless nights dreaming of what it would be like to be female. Because of my dysphoria I've come to struggle with addictions to Gender Bender fiction and crossdressing.

I know it's a stupid question, but is there any way to just get rid of my feelings? I don't want to do things that are sinful against God.

Thanks.

Christian friend. I see you're a teenager. Maybe you want to talk to a listener. Then you can searc for the issue you want to talk about. There is also community for "teenager" here at 7Cups. There is also a community for getting rid of addiction if you need that. You're not fully developed in your body. God loves you very much at the level you're on. I think each person has feminine and masculine sides. My brother liked to play with dolls when he was a child. In his younger age he was attracted to men, but he married a woman and has 4 wonderful children. All the best! From Helga.

@politePlane7600 may I suggest a different perspective? It's totally possible to be LGBT and Christian, I've met several people who are. You can try to look for queer religious groups, there used to be one within a queer circle near where I lived, but I'm sure there are others, as well as there are Christian churches that accept queer people and fit them within the framework of their religion. You can try to look into it and hear their reasons too. You don't have to give up on who you are

Whatever you do, getting rid of your feelings is the worst idea.

It is not a stupid question. I am a Reformed Christian female and I struggle with body dysphoria, as well as having my own fantasy obsessions, including wondering what it would be like to not be female. I know it can get pretty dark and scary, and it is easy to isolate for fear of judgment, but the other 3 supporters are right - you are not alone. You are fearfully and wonderfully made and there is hope, always. God's love does meet us where we are because we cannot do this on our own. We are wholly dependent on him and he wants you to go to him with what is on your heart; answers don't come necessarily right away, clearly or linearly. It takes Scripture, it takes time and prayer and support, so don't lose heart. Praying for you. Take care, friend.
