God
I am just getting into Christianity. I wear a cross bracelet, read the bible, and pray before bed. What is God for though? Like, what does he do for us?
@LightOak222 the Bible says (paraphrased) God is our refuge and strength in times of trouble. I guess everyone has an inner desire to have safety and security. Many people have different views of God. Religion can be a very personal experience also.
@LightOak222 God is our creater, we are all his children ❤ he's there when your sad, you can talk to him, when you feel lonely. He guides you when your lost, and shines for you in the dark ❤ God is love ❤

Hey there 👋
I'm actually glad that you're starting to get into Christianity.❤️
If you always have been a Christian, or maybe not, you have probably heard that God is our father and has created the universe, the world, anything you can find on earth, including the man which was created in his image.
And you have probably heard that his holy son, Jesus Christ, which is God, has suffered for people like us, for their sins.
But then the question comes up, like you did : "OK, God exists, he sent Jesus to save humanity from sins, ok, but why is he there?"
So firstly I would ask you, why are your parents there with you in your same house?
Why did they take care of you?
And so on, and what's the answer?
Exactly, they love you.
They do everything to make you happy and they wish you the best (as I hope they do in your family)
Now, imagine your parents' love towards you, but multiplied a hundred times...a million..a trillion times...or even infinite times...
That's God's love towards you. He loves you so much and what he wants is your happiness, like a good parent would want from their children. No matter how little or old you are.
For him you're eternal like the soul that has given to you and his Holy Spirit.
Now, people from other religions or non believers would disagree with this and say "Oh well, if God loves me, then why does *** exist? If he has created me, and "truly" loves me, why would he send me to a place where all I do is just suffer?"
Let's understand this a little better : God created us in his image (ok, we got it) and he knew that as human beings we aren't perfect and we ALL are sinner (that's why himself sent Jesus on the cross) and as all believers know, once we die, we're destination to either Heaven or *** (only after the Judgment day).
Ok, we all know what heaven might be like : it's the place where you and your loved once meet after death, it's where you find peace and love, time doesn't exist...and ect..
Then there's the Purgatory (I'm a Catholic Christian so I do believe in the existence of this stage) which is the place where souls go when they aren't completely set free from sins. For example, they accept God and Jesus as their Lord and Saviour but don't regret their sins.
Then there's ***. The place hatred by everybody.
It's always thought as the place where there's the devil, with the red tail, a lot of fire and lava...
But, do you really know why *** exists?
Do you know why God sends some people to He'll?
No, it's not because he hates you and has lied to you during your entire life.
He sends people to He'll because he still loves you.
Let's explain this better :
When you're on earth and alive, you have two choices : Believe in God (and not necessarily be a Christian), or don't believe in God.
Our heart is like a locked door and God is the person who wants to enter. Yet, we as humans have the key, since we are the once who decideds to believe in him or not.
We have this "key" because God has given us Free Will.
That's a huge thing if you think about it.
Free Will in believing in him or not.
You have the choice, you're not forced, otherwise it wouldn't be love.
When you believe in God, you're opening your heart to him, and he's glad of your choice🥰
Yet, some people simply don't open their hearts and decide to stay either in the doubt (=agnostics, from the greek agignosco which is formed by the ancient greek verb "gignosco" which means "know" and the alfa in front of it that show you the absence of the knowledge.I study ancient Greek and studying it actually has helped me a lot in understanding many things) or they are atheists (in greek is literally a- theos, which means "without God").
So, going back to the argument, when you deny God, he knows it obviously. He hears your heart since he created you.
And since you have decided to not want him during your lifetime, he's sending you to ***. But not because he doesn't want you in his kingdom, but because he Respects you and the fact that you didn't want him when you were alive, so why would you stay with him after death? It would be forced, and as I said, God doesn't force you to stay with him.
So he sends you to a separation place which is ***.
But watch out, since God has given us the gift of intelligence, consciousness, beauty, and anything you can imagine, that means that if you go in a place where God and his creation are far away from him, that means that the gifts he gave you, so like your consciousness and intelligence, are going back to him and you're left with nothing.
That means, *** is going to be a second death in which you stop existing. You're nothing and your soul dies with the second death, because you denied Jesus and God who promised you the eternal life.
See, if you think about it CAREFULLY, you will see that EVERYTHING'S connected.
So, recalling everything one more time : God loves you, and when you need help he's there with you.
He LISTENS TO YOUR PRAYERS.
Even in the hardest times. Just open your heart to him and he'll help you.
And trust me he will because I, as an ex- atheist, I was going to do something really bad to myself when I was in a deep moment of my teen age. But he stopped me and opened my eyes. Now I have found a meaning to life, a passion and a reason to keep living.
But still, remember that since we're all children of God, Christians and non Christians, Believers and Non- Believers, we must respect each other like brothers and sisters.
I hope this was helpful!!! ❤️❤️❤️
(Sorry if it's too long)

@Apeatrice you are a person of great faith. Keep that sacred by not sharing that with people you know will understand. You sound like you are swimming against the current so to speak. It sounds challenging.
Keep living an ethical life based on the religion you affiliate with and keep the faith. soulsings
@soulsings
Thank u for saying that buddy. It means a lot to me right now. I hope you have a nice day ❤️💙
@Apeatrice I mistyped and corrected it. Reveal to those who you know will understand or just remain silent in your faith.
Thank you for saying that buddy. It really touch me. here is what it connected me with;
Tw; emotional & physical violence
'l have to remind silent and be docile in this time of unjust and harsh strom, so l can be alive for the later good. '
@LightOak222
teach me how to pray i dont know how...
@stampy83
To me, praying comes from the heart, and when I reach out to him I close my eyes, hold something dear to me, and sit on, or around my bed (doesnt matter where really) and I talk to him, knowing he's there to love me and to listen to me without judgement. You can also get rosary beads and hold them, and each bead, you pray or send out love into the world (at least thats how i do it. Other people may have different ways or more traditional ways, it's up to you how you would like to do it)
@LightOak222
I think that way sounds nice, I'm going to try that, I'm not a religious person but I'm trying to be.
