What’s Your Favorite Bible Verse/Passage/Book?
I love reading Revelation! It’s got so much drama, and cool creatures, and hope at the end <3
What about you? What parts of Scripture do you love the most? What inspires or convicts you?
I like scripture that anyone can relate to here is a favorite of mine
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to ****, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

I love that... I need one that says "a time to rest and a time to work" lol! I'm so bad at allowing myself to rest...
@jesusredeemedme2425 I like this call to a desolate place. That implies to me to take time to move away from worldly activities and spend time in silence.

I always feel like I need to be productive instead of resting... It makes me feel guilty when I simply rest.
"favorite" may not quite be the right word for it, but for me the scriptures that matter most are
- the Book of Job
- Ecclesiastes
- Exodus
...usually in that order.
@slowdecline48 is it the story being told or the message being conveyed that leads you to those books ?
@soulsings For the first two, the message they convey.* For Exodus it is evidence. Not an objective report at all--there's nothing out there about a flight of 600,000 slaves from Egypt--but, when looked at with the major archaeological finds in Israel within a century's time, the facts are clear: the Israelite monarchy, then the tin-pot kingdoms of Israel & Judah were there. There's been a continuous Jewish presence in what is now Israel & the "West Bank" for over three millennia, although for most of that time it was controlled by non-Jewish powers. (Certain passages from 1st & 2nd books of Kings are also handy in that regard)
*The message, of course, is somewhat dependent on the person reading it since we all filter what we read through our own assumptions, biases, etc.

Proverbs
Lately, Proverbs 1:20-22 says much to me:
"Wisdom cries aloud in the streets, Raises her voice in the squares. At the head of the busy streets she calls; At the entrance of the gates, in the city, she speaks out: 'How long will you simple ones love simplicity, You scoffers be eager to scoff, You dullards hate knowledge?'"
