hi there,

i was wondering why the category for 'traumatic experiences' has been removed from the 1on1 chats? the way i see it is this is a topic that not all listeners can handle - which i have been told on a few chats, so being able to specify this before someone takes on a chat can mean i get through to someone who is more likely to be able to handle the conversation.

its hard when you just start to open up about something that is really hard to talk about just to be told they want to pass you on to a new listener. i completly understand why this happens but it used to help that you could specify this.

not sure if i explained this well cos i struggle with using the right words.

thanks

I have been wondering why this has happened too and I agree with all of the points you have made here.

I don't have the answers but I'm going to tag people here who might be able to explain the situation and hopefully rectify it.

I'm afraid that I don't have insight into why the category was removed, but I can absolutely see your point @BrokenDragonGirl. It's important that we are as inclusive as possible. I don't have an answer yet, but I will work on finding one for you.

@Lee

thanks for pinging me.

I think this happened inadvertently as we were connecting "struggle" topics to personalized paths. There seem to be a few cases where we changed or renamed categories in ways that don't really work, and we also need to make sure that we can support topics for listeners and members to discuss regardless of whether they connect to a sefl-help guide or growth path.

I'm putting together now a list of items that were incorrectly removed to get them put back ASAP.

I think there is more than one thread on this so I will follow up where I can.

@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn

Thanks so much,

I would also like to make you aware that all questions in the q N a that were under the category traumatic events seem to have disappeared?!

Thanks for all you do :)

I'd assume (but don't know) that they remove categories either rarely searched for, or that few listeners tick. But this seems like an important one to have.

I hope they put it back in. It seems to me the more categories, the better!

Hey Everyone! Thanks for letting us know & reporting this.

We made some updates last week and inadvertently some of the topics were changed or moved. We are sorry for this. Of course, we want everyone to be able to select a topic that best matches their needs. We will find a way to add this back to the list. Thanks for your patience!
