Day Streak keeps resetting?
Hello,
Even though I login daily (and multiple times per day), my day streak always seems to reset itself at around 20 days. Is there anyway to stop this?

Mine is perpetually stuck at 1 day. I've assumed there's something the counter "wants" that I don't do. There's also some growth path number I've been stuck on forever. Fortunately I don't really care about the "game" features on the site.
@squib - the counter wants you to take a growth path step (and also fill your wellness cup)
mine resets itself too. i think it might have to do with it's 24 hour measure. if you did something on the growth path at 6:00 am on tuesday, but didn't do another thing on the growth path until 7:00 am wednesday, it might reset itself. otherwise, idk. like @squib, i'm not too concerned with that part of the site.
Its either based on a 24hrs time measure or on EST time zone....

I like seeing my day streak increase, it makes me feel like I'm achieving something so it's disheartening when it resets.
I usually visit at the same time every day so it's confusing that it seems to reset for no reason.
Are there any moderators who can answer this question? Thanks.

@Aaryav @littlelotte - first you'll see kind of like a shimmering rainbow iridescent effect in your peripheral vision and suddenly a unicorn is there
so let's see. if there's a bug we'll figure it out. the way the day is calculated has changged. it was pegged to UTC (GMT) at first, and now it sets itself based on your local day, I think and also when you last did your step.
To keep the streak going you need to advance a step on your path, and if you do you should also see your teacup level either go up or stay full. If those things are happening but the streak is still not extending, let me know. (Is it that they happen but the next day the streak is back to 1, or is the cup not filling, or the step not showing as completed, etc.?)
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn I complete a step on my path every day, and it shows the cup as being full. Then suddenly I'll login one day and the streak has gone back to one (usually around 20 days).
Would logging in from a different computer (but at a similar time) cause this to happen?

that's right. the streak is tied to making progress on the member growth path and keeping the wellness cup full.
we have some plans for the listener path and another "tamagotchi"-ish encouragement to consistency, but the primary purpose of the existing path/cup/streak model is to encourage consistent self-care for therapeutic reasons.
btw, I'm a listener here, of course, but I log into my personal member account every day (on another browser :) ) and work my growth path because it makes me feel good.

@Becca13 It should be on your growth path or under your progress (if you have a member account).
to be clear, logging in does not extend your streak. you need to take a step on your path.

It's always been rather opaque to me just what "counts" as taking a step on the path. I'm at some crazy step number well over 1000 mainly because there was a period where every N messages in group chat seemed to constitute a step. And now it seems literally nothing I do advances the counter; but I tend to do the same things over and over (group and 1-1 messages, forum posts, feed posts and reposts, but not a lot of anything else).
I don't care apart from my natural curiosity about how things work...
@squib - the easiest way to know is to go to your path, click on the step and see what it suggests, or choose to see the alternatives. any of those things will advance you a step.
for the most part it involves mindfulness, gratitude and positivity, and viewing positive or informative videos and posts in the feed...
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn I find I have to directly choose to take a step now. Before, just doing an activity was good enough, but since the update this isn't the case.
Ie. I might look at my feed, not advance, but then choose the step, it recommends I go to me feed, I use that link, see the exact same feed posts, and then I advance.
I still find it randomly resets at times too though, sometimes within a few hours of advancing a step.
@AffyAvo - hmm, random resetting sounds buggy. I'd like to know more about when that happens.
we did not change what counted to extend the streak but we did change how/when the time to check if you've done anything in the last day and to reduce the tea cup level is calculated. the problem could be with that.
