How do you subscribe to updates?

The links do not tell me how to do so.
I can see how to subscribe to an individual thread, but each update will be it's own thread, right? How do I subscribe to the monthly update forums?

The 'subscribe' icon is right next to 'post to thread' . You can subscribe and each time a NEW post is made to thread you will get a notification. Right, @Laura ?
