Members offline
I am not sure this is the right place to post this, but I couldn't think of anywhere else.
I was wondering if the possibilty for members to choose their online/offline status has ever be discussed. I sometimes receive messages from listeners who wants help, even if I am a member. And I know this has happened and happens to other members as well, especially when you are quite active in forums and have leadership roles. I am glad to do what I can, but sometimes it feels overwhelming. I do explain when I am busy or simply not in the right place to offer help, but I guess the online status with the green light confuses listeners and they often take it personally. I know it is their problem and not mine, yet I feel that the possibily of choosing the status would help a lot...
@admaiorasemper I agree with you. The reality is that the distinction between members and listeners has turned out to be more blurred than in the original concept of 7 Cups, and the software product now fails to reflect reality.
Being able to set your status the way listeners can is one thing that would help. (Listener status could also be improved, I think, because we now know a lot more about how listeners like to organize their time.)
But I have come to think that the software product's lack of responsiveness to the community reflects a deep rooted problem in 7 Cups that goes back a very long way, was identified very early on, but was never fully addressed. I am not confident that this will be easy to change.
I think there is, or was, a suggestion box form where you can submit ideas like this, but I don't know where, and I don't know whether it actually works now. @7CupsCommunity will know

Thank you for that tag Charlie! :) I will also try to find that suggestions box form you mentioned
@RarelyCharlie
The suggestion boxes can be found here. However, I have also logged the feedback. Thank you for the tag!
@admaiorasemper since you are a member, you dont need to respond to listeners who message you if you are on that account. You can ignore them if you arent able to handle talking to them. Also, listeners shouldnt be reaching out to you for personal support; if they are please leave them an honest review saying theyve done so, as they shouldnt be doing this from their listeners account.
@MidnightRaven999
Thank you for the value in this post! This is most helpful!
@MidnightRaven999
I know I can ignore them and I know they shouldn't reach out to me. But when I see someone struggling... sorry, I can't simply ignore them. I don't think this is 7cups purpose. Of course if I feel I am not able to handle them, I put my own wellbeing first.
I still think us members should have the right to choose our status.
