New Member Mentors
Hey Everyone, Misty here!
In my Safety & Knowledge discussion today it was suggested that new members might benefit from having a mentor! I think this is a great idea! We had several green newbie badges in the chatroom (next to their name is the word 'newbie' in green, this disappears after one month) today and whereas the newbie Listeners have the option of having a Mentor the newbie Members do not? I wonder if we might look into this idea a bit more?
What do you all think?

Love this new idea
@azuladragon34 Thanks Dragon! Any idea of how it might work?

Maybe we can get a mixture of members and listeners. But i think experienced members are way better for the role
@MistyMagic
Or an experience listener
@MistyMagic I like the idea. I can't decide whether a member mentor should be a member or a listener. A member, I suppose, makes more sense in a way, but then they can't chat to the people they are mentoring. Maybe as part of the Newbie Hub subcommunity it can all happen in the forums and chatrooms. On the other hand, if it's a listener, then how is that different from just being a listener? But after all that rambling I still like the idea

@RarelyCharlie Hahahaha rambling IS good, it leads to ideas. So you are right Member > Member wouldn't work as they can't talk directly except in a room or forum setting. But having a drop in 'chatroom' a bit like the Listener Support room but with experienced Members and Listeners there that will be kind and offer to share their skills?
So maybe an experienced Listener then? One of the questions that newbies wanted support with was navigating the site and finding things, so simple things that make them feel more relaxed and at home and safe.
I have no idea if the idea would work, it is like a Listener I suppose? Maybe a change or improvement to the Newbie welcome message and email might help too?
