Trolls
First I'd like to ask why the people of color room isn't always available and when is the next time it will be?
Also, there were a few members hanging out in the room just to troll other members that were there for real support. There to show their dislike for them. I went in hoping to get help on a subject I've been feeling particularly down about, and left feeling even worse about myself than I originally had. One of these guys is a frequent user of all the chat rooms. I go to a room and can't get invoved in conversation because he is in there and I know how he feels about me, despite not knowing me at all. And i end up not wanting to be involved with anyone because I think they all probably feel the same way he does.
So I guess my question is, what should I do, and what will happen if I do it? And does anybody even really care?....

I believe it is the same with a lot of rooms, it is only open for discussions because it never really had activity when it was open in the past :) and this is to make sure that people are actually able to get support in another room and there are a lot of rooms already opened.

Yeah some rooms only open for discussions, and I mean, it does kinda make sense for the POC one, because of the reason you mentioned...trolls. Unfortunately a topic like that is a magnet for trolls and there aren't enough mods to deal with them.
