Safety Discussion - Identifying an Inappropriate Profile
Hi everyone! 😊
The profile of each Cupser, which is what we call 7 Cups users, is divided into three components: usernames, profile pictures, and bios.
In previous Safety Discussions, we’ve talked about what is an appropriate profile and what is not, for each of the above three components.
In this discussion, I will be summarizing what is allowed for each of the components.
Profile Pictures
Profile pictures can be anything except:
One of your social media pictures, as reverse image search is easy these days 😬
Representative of violent, sexually explicit, political or any triggering/graphic content.
A picture of celebrities, or flags [identity flags (e.g. pride flags) are okay!]

Usernames
These kinds of usernames is not allowed on 7 Cups:
Usernames containing sexualized, graphic, or curse words
Usernames containing anything about suicide/drugs/alcohols
Usernames having anything that is homophobic/racist towards any group

Bio
The following types of content is not allowed in bios:
Contains any personal contact/social media details (more on this in this discussion: Bios: Offsite Contact)
Carries any inappropriate language or cursing/swearing
Shows any kind of spam/advertising

What to do if you see one?
Okay, now I know what are the guidelines for profiles. If I see a profile which doesn’t meet those guidelines, what can I do about it?
These are the thoughts you may be having now.
Here’s a detailed post about reporting an inappropriate profile: How do I report an Inappropriate Profile? This can be summarized in the following points:
Ask for someone on Safety Patrol in listener rooms (Listener Support Room for adults, and Teen Listeners for teens). Once they’ve responded to you, privately message them with the profile link to the profile you want to be flagged.
Here is the list of all listeners on the Safety Patrol team. You can also PM one of them with the username/profile link
You can also message any ambassador or the community moderator on shift with the username or profile link, with the reason why the profile does not meet the site guidelines.
Here’s a quiz to test your understanding of what is considered an inappropriate profile. Take the quiz from the below link
Tag a few of your 7 Cups friends and encourage them to take the quiz too!

Thanks for invite Sunshine. I took the test and scored 5/5. 🤗😊

I did so bad at the test haha, oops. 3/5 though.
@SleepyPersonForever
3/5 is not a bad score. I hope you now know what an inappropriate profile is 😄
I have seen profiles making political statements, particularly about the situation in the Middle East.
This is a very hot issue that elicits strong emotions. Particularly hatred.
I think this might be divisive. It's ok to have different political opinions but not to bring to Cups things that might divide us as a Community.
