What is Safety in Group Support?

Group support refers to any of the member chat rooms and support rooms we have, where we can receive support in a larger environment or hangout and get to know some other members or listeners!

We also have other rooms that are opened when a moderator is able to be present, this contributes to keeping the rooms safer. When using group support everyone has to follow the community guidelines which you can find here! Some rooms have additional guidelines due to the topic presenting more support/safety needs.

Who is responsible for keeping the rooms safe?

Our Group Support Admin - @Heather225

Heather is the community manager for safety, quality, and chatroom stuffs!

Our Group Support Ambassador - @Suryansh

Surya overlooks group support, working with other admin staff to ensure safety measures are put into place and that everyone abides by these guidelines, so that themselves and everyone else is kept safe!

Chatroom Moderators

Our community moderators are trained and paid moderators who are there specifically to help keep the rooms safe. They can be identified by their names, which follow the format of ‘CommunityModName', and you can find their weekly schedule here!

On the teen side they specifically devote their time to Support Room and Teen Community Room, however will attend any room that needs emergency attention.

They are provided with a warning system that can be used to remove users from the room if they pose a risk to the safety of themselves or others

Volunteer Mods

Volunteer moderators are like community moderators, except they aren't paid for their work and therefore don't have shifts, like community mods do. If there is a conflict in a room, com mods will be called into the room first, however any volunteer mod in the room can assist you and will do their utmost to keep you safe! You can find a list of all our volunteer mods here!

Each member of our community *yes that includes you!*

Keeping yourself safe by following the community guidelines.

What Safety Resources Exist, When Would I Use Them?

Emergency Mod Form

When this is filled in an email notification goes out to notify the community mod on duty that a room needs attention. They then have to answer this within a specific time frame, unless they are already dealing with an emergency in another room. In that case, it may take a little longer.

You can use this form if someone is breaking chatroom rules that are at the bottom of the chat window, or if there's a conflict in the room.

Mod Review Form

Filling this form will make sure that the listener in question is following our guidelines and helping keep the room safe, and a friendly chat with both your point of view and the listeners will be conducted, to receive a fair end result

This form can be used for any moderator, room supporter, or listener, who you feel has violated our guidelines. You can also use this to leave a note or appreciation or a friendly review! <3

Mute/Report Button

Using the mute button will make sure you cannot see the member or listener in the rooms for a few days, and can be used if someone in the chatroom is triggering you or whose messages like to see less of.

Using the report button files an official complaint for you, which will be looked into promptly. This can be used if you feel someone has violated our community guidelines, or you feel is an unsafe member in the chatroom

The mute button can be used if you would rather not see a member or listener, and can be used to avoid conflict!

The report button can be used if someone has violated our guidelines, and you can use it to file an official report. Your report will be thoroughly investigated and our admins and listeners are always there if you need to get something off your chest!

@frostyOcean72 this is a very helpful post! I really do believe that it's very important to make the group support rooms a place where people find comfort and support. ❤ Thank you to community managers, community mods, volunteer mods, and to YOU who abides with the rules and maintains the purpose of the rooms. 🍕
