A mistake to ruin everything
Do you guys ever make a mistake and it feels like it erased and destroyed all of your progress and ruined your relationships with the people that were there when you made the mistake and it now can never be fixed again?
Looking at myself type this out, it's clear to that in those situations feeling like that is an overreaction, but man do I feel like that sometimes.
Thoughts?
No it's not overreaction your feelings are valid totally valid dear.... And yea sometimes we do make mistakes which can't be reversed and these mistakes sometimes ruin our relationships and all.. But they can't be changed we have to accept them and work on ourselves .. We've to accept and do best to what we can do about it..
I can totally relate. My therapist told me this can be classified as “catastrophizing” where you basically jump to the worst possible outcome each time something doesn’t go your way.
Basically I was told to start thinking in shades of grey. Instead of thinking in ways that everything is “all or nothing”, evaluate things on a range of 0 to 100 instead. So let’s say you made a mistake, try to evaluate it and give it a score.
I used to feel like this for years. Then I realised that everything is temporary. Failure is temporary as we can wake up the next day and reinvent ourselves. When I believe in me, others do too. I have a range of self sabotage mistakes in the past. I used to feel despair and regret. Now? I take it as a step forward, just time to take a different approach or direction. Remember it’s not how you fall down but how you get up again that counts.
