Comparison to the people around me

Hey guys, over the past few years, I've tried my best to not compare myself to my peers and the people around me, especially when scrolling through my feed on social media. It went to the point that I had to delete the apps on my phone.

But recently, a boss from work keeps comparing me with herself. She's a high flyer and super driven, while I am super unmotivated and still don't know what I want to do in life. She keeps mentioning that at my age, she already had such and such achievements. She says she is doing this comparison because she wants me to "wake up" and push me to do better, and I can't help but think that way to some extent as well, and I am catching myself unconsciously starting to compare myself again.

It feels like I'm in my head so much and it is suffocating, especially when she voices it out so often.

Wondering if anyone feels this way too?

Maybe she is really trying to motivate you .......but it is the wrong way to do it..... do not let her misguided action get you back to the comparison trap.   Maybe she is sadly doing this as she can only feel ahead by telling others that she had this or that by your age etc.... it might be for her ego.

a podcast i listened to says " do not swim in the toilet of comparison"  ..... everyone has a different road and different challenges.... while some think it motivates ... it can but often it ends in depression and some feeling defeated.
