Do you feel more like yourself when you're alone or around other people?
Hey everyone 🌱
I've been thinking about how different parts of us show up in different situations.
So here's a question I'd love to hear your thoughts on:
Do you feel more like yourself when you're alone or when you're around other people?
And if you'd like to share more, what makes you feel that way?
There's no right or wrong answer here. Some people feel most themselves in their own company, while others feel most alive around people they trust.
Curious to hear your experiences 💛
That's an easy one, alone. I feel extremely pressured around others (offline), like I have to entertain them, or always be happy.
I don't feel like I can be myself, stressed, sore, or whatever is going on. I have to listen (offline) to them, support them and play counsellor to ease their burdens.
When I'm alone, I can feel whatever and there's no-one looking over my shoulder saying, You're too negative or be there for me, while I'll ignore you.
@ScrabbleBrain What a genuine response!
I can understand how you feel around others. 7 cups is here for you and me too..
I want to say that keeping boundaries for yourself when you are with others helps you to maintain your peace. Just start small, because being around people will teach you many things which you can't learn on your own :)💖

I used to be more myself alone, but life is tiring when we try to play parts. my dropping an act and being more myself take it or leave it in most all situations freed me up to grow and learn to like myself more.
perhaps if people would understand themselves if they quit trying to be something else.
For me, alone. When you're alone there's no one judging, no one looking at you, just no one. and it is in that kind of place where I can be myself and let my guard down. However, those moments in my life are becoming always less, there's always someone and I feel like I have to hide all my demons inside of me because if I let them go out I can hurt someone with some cruel words that usually are only in my mind. That's quite depressing
