How to not hate everything about myself?

I don’t know what my problem is, I can’t feel confident no matter how hard I try. I’m constantly thinking about all my flaws and how others see me; and it affects my day to day life. I know I’m not all around bad looking a bad person etc, but I just find myself comparing myself to everyone and thinking everyone is better than me in all aspects.

@maddcatter

Here is an exercise for you if you like to compare ...

look around you will see many who are overflowing confidence ... what do they have  that you don't ?   Look close many have flaws too ... we all do  ... many who in the view of others should not be so sure of themselves but they are.... because they are happy with themselves and when you feel self appreciation it shows.

emulate them ...confidence is not about trying...... it is about doing....no matter what others think. sooner or later we look past small things and see the whole picture.

I hear you and honestly, so many people struggle with feeling not enough and wrestle with comparisons all the time. You’re definitely not weird or have a problem for thinking like this. I OFTEN catch myself doing this until I remember that these thoughts are totally human and do not make me any less worthy. Have you ever seen a celebrity talk about their insecurities and you’re like “No way! That’s impossible!”, cause I surely have. It just goes to show that everybody has their own particular flaws but these definitely don’t define you.

@maddcatterIt sounds really tough to carry that weight of self-doubt every day. Constantly focusing on flaws and comparing yourself to others can trap you in a cycle that’s hard to break. Confidence isn’t about being perfect or better than others—it’s about accepting yourself, flaws and all, and valuing your own unique qualities. One helpful step is to practice shifting your focus from comparisons to appreciation—of small things you like about yourself or things you’ve accomplished. Remind yourself that everyone has struggles and insecurities, even if they don’t show them. If you want, I can share some practical exercises to help build self-compassion and reduce negative self-talk. You deserve to feel good about yourself, and it’s possible to get there with time and support.
