Strangers keep commenting on my height
For reference, I’m a 5’0 woman. Not necessarily that uncommon. I know a lot of hispanic dads shorter than me. I have lived in so many different states including across the country, I’ve lived in tiny rural towns and booming cities. I recently relocated to for a job and I’ve only been here 4 months and you know how many times a stranger has VERBALLY OPENLY said something about my height? FIVE TIMES. Do you know how often someone said something about my height in the 6 years before that? ZERO. I am *** astonished. Last night was the most recent occurrence, I was standing in line and this mom and her daughter were behind me, absolutely losing it at how short I was, and described me as “very teeny” WTF. And the craziest part? I turned my head to the left and standing literally within arms reach from us was a woman who was exactly my height and nearly the same age, so why did they only notice me? I am an adult woman. I actually can’t describe how confused and humiliated I have started to become. I’m afraid to leave my *** house because it seems like every time I go out people target me for this! I’m not even that short! What is going on seriously? No one ever did this to me where I lived before I truly have no words. I would feel better if I could just understand
@mxscn I'm sorry that people calling out your height may be affecting your self esteem. No one should have you feeling like something is wrong with you. Your height is for you. It takes all kinds of people to make up this world and we all come in different heights, shapes, and sizes. There's absolutely nothing wrong with how tall you are. 😀 I, too, am short but I like to call myself a "tall short person". (Literally, it's because of my tall upper torso that makes me as tall as I am. I'm maybe half an inch taller than you for that reason.) 😉 Anyway, please try and not let these people get to you.
