Why does the way I look affect them so much?

I think I'm being ridiculous, but I can't stand it. People stare at me all the time. Girls make fun of me, of my appearance, giving me scornful looks. I'm just trying to live, like anyone else. Why does the way I walk and the way I look affect them so much? I've been trying to live these past seven years. It's not even people I know, and I know it's probably ridiculous that it affects me, but when it happens so often, it's inevitable that it doesn't affect me... Now I can't step foot outside the house without shaking or crying. A year without leaving the house, but in a few days I won't be able to avoid it, and I still don't know how I'll do to avoid being bullied.

Really sorry to hear that, people will always be people you just have to learn to ignore them. Based on experience, just shut out their words, it's going to be hard but you can start little by little. It could be ignoring one thing they say about you to ignoring all

I'm sorry to hear that...i've struggled with social anxiety for as long as i can remember and i can relate a lot to your post.

To answer the question in your title, honestly, i think that those girls should really stop focusing so much on other people's lives in a negative way. There are unfortunately people like that in the world, but thankfully there are also people who'll accept and love you unconditionally. The world is filled with both good and bad people and even though we can't control what other people think, we can control who we want to listen to and spend time with.

I think most people are too busy worrying about what other people think of them honestly and a lesson that i learned over the years is: If someone bullies you even if you've never done any harm to them, then it's NOT your fault and the mean things that they say to you are NOT true.

The second lesson i learned is: it's impossible to please everyone. For example: you can be the mean kid at school and people will still dislike you for being mean. But you can also be the kindest most generous person in school, and there's still going to be someone who'll dislike you. Does that mean that there's anything wrong with you? No. Some people are just envious/insecure and they project their insecurities to innocent people like you. So what should you do when people will hate you whether you are a kind/a mean person? Choose to be a kind person. Just be yourself because you deserve to be surrounded by people who love you for being you and i hope one day you'll find those people. You are stronger than your strongest hardships. I believe in you!

@versatileCamp4078 You’re not being ridiculous at all. When people treat you like that, especially over and over, it hurts,  even if they’re strangers. You deserve to feel safe just existing as you are. It’s not your fault they react that way, and I really admire how you’ve kept going despite it.

Hey! I know it’s been a while since this post but I thought I’d check up on you. I’m so sorry this happened to you—they’re definitely in the wrong, and I pray that they learn better. Your feelings are COMPLETELY valid. I want to remind you that you are so loved, precious, and beautiful and that no one has the right to treat you like this. Keep living your life and being your best self; you’re amazing no matter what anyone else thinks! Sending you so much love and many hugs from afar!! 🫶
